About Us

Our Philosophy

At Get Ready to Swim, we use a 7-day technique that was created by Tom Bradbury, one of the preeminent swim teachers in the country.

Tom taught over 95,000 children over the course of his 65-year career using this program. Ginnie and Rette use this firm but gentle approach that allows children to gain confidence in the pool.  Days 1 – 3 are the hardest, as the children learn the basics through lots of short repetitions.

By day 4, most children are starting to have fun while they continue to learn new skills in the water.

Expectations

All children will progress at different rates.  Age, physiological development, and personality all play a part in what your child will be able to accomplish in 7 days. However, we guarantee that every child will be comfortable and confident in the pool.

Life-Saving Skills

At Get Ready to Swim, we introduce and teach children and their parents the life-saving skills of what to do if they fall into the pool. While the younger children (18 months to 2 ½) will not have it mastered, the parents will have the necessary skills to continue to reinforce what the child has learned with

She continued her swimming through various competitive leagues and at Westminster. After graduating from Westminster, she attended Winthrop University and played collegiate volleyball. Ginnie has two daughters, Emma (7) and Maggie (5).

Ginnie was first introduced to the 7-day program when she enrolled Emma in 2019 with Coach John Silverman, a colleague of Tom Bradbury. She was very impressed with the program and asked if John would consider training her.

Ginnie has since coached thousands of children using this reliable 7-day program with Triton Tykes. She loves teaching young children these foundational life-saving skills and instilling in children the love of swimming and the water.
